Refining

The Only Alaskan Owned Refineries

Refining is where it all started. Petro Star built its North Pole Refinery in 1985 to serve the needs of Interior Alaska – where severe arctic conditions make dependable, high-quality product imperative.

The refinery’s efficient operations, uncompromising quality and dedicated Alaska personnel became the foundation of the company’s ongoing success. Today the company operates refineries in North Pole and Valdez, serving the needs of customers throughout the state.

North Pole

Our Interior Alaska refinery is a 22,000-barrel-per-day facility, producing heating fuel, turbine fuel, diesel, jet fuels, and asphalt base oil. Residential, commercial, industrial and military customers can all count on a consistent, dependable, high-quality product. We test our fuels in a state-of-the-art laboratory for their cloud and pour points, gravity and flash level. Additional tests are performed on jet fuels to ensure a safe and high-quality product.
